A Match Made in Heaven

Lori Haggeman and Doug Davis Wedding Poem

We’re gathered tonight in this partying room,
Out of love for this bride and her newly wed groom.
Here’s to the days that await them ahead.
We ask, God, be with them wherever they’re led.

We ask your reflection in all that they do.
May they be an example and witness for you.
Give strength to them, Lord, when their burdens are straining.
Bring praise to their words! Leave no room for complaining.

Bring forth understanding in all that’s discussed.
Let faith be their pillars supporting their trust.
Keep fresh a new spirit that grows with each day.
Let their love remain present in every way.

The spice that we’ve witnessed while hearing their vow.
May it be, in ten years, as abundant as now.
Let blessings pour out on them, however disguised.
Bring forth your awareness, that they’re realized.

Bond them forever. Let happiness shine.
Let truth be their basis for living divine.
Be their shield and defender ‘gainst Satan’s attack.
When he comes up against them, Lord, please push him back.

May you be at the center of all that they do.
May their lives both be known that it’s all about you.
Let them feel all the love that surrounds them this night.
The two are now one, Jesus, bond them both tight.

Thanks for this evening. Let joy fill the air.
Tonight, let it be something all of us share.
Thanks for the son you had sent here to save us.
And thank you for Mr. And Mrs. Doug Davis.
