For all Mothers

When it comes to special people, there is one stands ‘bove the others.
There’s no one quite as special as our loving, caring mothers.
To make you feel most special, in a very special way.
I wrote a special poem for you, to share on Mother’s Day.

These feelings I’m expressing! They are very special ones!
I’m sure I share these feelings, with most daughters and most sons.
So mothers, listen to these words, wrote specially for you.
Let us start by giving thanks, for all you’ve done and do.

You carried us, our first nine months. You gave our lives to us.
You fed us! Changed us! Loved us! And you put up with our fuss.
You taught us many lessons as we slow, but surely grew.
You modeled how to live our lives, by watching what you’d do.

You helped us thru our struggles; you were always, always there.
At times when no one seemed to, you would always show your care.
We always knew you loved us, if we never made it clear.
We know you knew we loved you back. A little more each year!

We hope your day is special! That good tidings come your way!
For strength and grace and happiness. These things for you we pray.
We also give our thanks for you. God’s greatest gift you’ll see.
For helping us become the persons, we have come to be.
