Award for Perseverance
William (Daniel) Seuver (1987 classmate in Phoenix, AZ)
Wondered how he’d do at first, his lack of education.
Good feelings I received at first, his loyal dedication.
Struggled through the stormy sea of education’s ocean.
Ain’t met someone so trying. Never seen such deep devotion.
Hours at the grindstone, nothing granted ever took.
When not on the computer he was buried in a book.
Brought his grades from low to high. From C’s to B’s to A’s.
Accumulated knowledge most would lose. With Dan it stays.
Every single day at three, the only single sign.
Of our class was Daniel. He would still be there at nine.
Even there on Fridays. The day we’d normally rest.
Educating constantly. He thoroughly impressed.
This guy we met six months ago, seemed slow and all alone.
He’s getting now high papers. Can’t believe how much he’s grown.
Disclosing information the instructors never learned.
This man has much potential, anyone who is concerned.
Sincerer efforts can’t be found. A harder worker, never.
Not a task or problem that this guy would not endeavor.
Wish I had his attitude. His drive and his desire.
Influenced by his growth, it seems, he set my blaze on fire.
To William Daniel Seuver from a person most conserved.
I write of great accomplishment, respectably deserved.
Each day you would impress me. Every day a little more.
I have no doubt you will go far. Continue to explore.
Thrive on education. You can never know enough.
The way that you retain it Dan, you’ll always know your stuff.
Continue to devote yourself. Your thoughts to be expressed.
And you will find the whole wide world, like me, will be impressed.
Glad I got to learn with you. You were an inspiration.
You proved that mountains weren’t too high. Thanks for the confirmation.
Your efforts towards your studies are incomparable. The hardest!
Compared I’m just a scribbler, but Daniel, you’re an artist.
Never lose your attitude. Pursue and you’ll achieve.
Dream and it will happen, just so long as you believe.
Keep a high perspective. Always smile! Just be you!
And you will be the best of who it is you choose to be.
Thanks once more, I say to you. Too bad our time has ended.
You added so much to our class. So glad that you attended.
If I had a business, guess it isn’t hard to see.
I’d hire you because I know, you’d give your best to me.
I know I speak for all the class. The teachers and the students.
You got to be a habit. Hard accepting your excludence.
Keep progressing every day. Never, ever stop.
I’ll see you ‘bout five years from now, when you are on the top.
