If This Were Your Little Girl

Written in response to an e-mail cry for help in finding their lost little girl

Can you even imagine, your child disappearing.
It’s the worst thought I ever, can think to be fearing.
Your little girl lost, as the worst you are thinking.
As day after day you can feel your hope sinking.

You’d want all the help, in the world you could find.
You’d struggle to focus and not lose your mind.
The amber alert is a very good start.
Still we need to reach out, to each Internet heart.

To pass on this picture and keep our eyes open.
To give her poor parents, a reason for hopin’.
So please pass this message as far as you can.
Maybe we’ll find her. Let’s pray that’s God’s plan.

Please don’t delete this without at least trying.
In writing this poem, I am practically crying.
She has to be found, if there’s even one clue.
The difference could well be in something you do.

Pretend she was yours! Try to feel their despair!
By sending this forward you show them you care.
You might be the difference if, maybe, she’s found.
Please forward this picture and pass it around.

And last but not least, say a prayer for this child.
Pray for her family! For how they’ve been trialed!
Pray for her safety and show your concern.
By asking God, please, that she, quickly, return.
