My Newest and Dearest Friend

Pertaining to a young lady I had met thru the Internet

Only known her a few short weeks.
I like the words she writes and speaks.
I’ve found a friend from far away.
Perhaps I’ll meet her some bright day.

My kids are growing fond of her.
They talk like friends, as if they were.
It’s so darn cute, my little boy.
Reads her mail with utter joy.

My daughter, she just likes to gab.
The phone, she is so quick to grab.
It seems that Anne has won our heart.
Is this how romance get its start?

She lives a thousand miles away.
Yet still we speak most every day.
We e-mail every day and night.
I love it when she’ll call or write.

We’re growing close in many ways.
I haven’t known her many days.
I’m growing very fond of her.
She’s on my mind, and that’s for sure.

I’ve made a friend for whom I care.
Who, so far, has been always there.
Too bad the miles are so great.
The problem is they separate,

What probl’y has a real good chance
Of being friends and true romance.
Is there a chance that love will grow?
It will take some time to know.

All I know’s we all agree.
My kids and me like what we see.
She’s cute, as the clause you used to hear.
Whatever is cute about a bug’s ear.

I wish so bad that we could meet.
That I could take her out to eat.
That I could dance real close to her.
To feel her out and know for sure.

Either way, I’m glad we met.
I made a friend I won’t forget.
A toast to Anne, my newest friend.
Let nothing let our friendship end.
