Here is the Poem that You’d Requested
Jeff Rud (Rudy)
Rudy, I’ve known you for quite a few years.
We shared lots of laughter and even some tears.
We been thru the mill but we always pulled through.
I’ve many fond memories relating to you.
Out West, Colorado, we worked with big Al.
Was there we first met and you made me your pal.
Was then that our stories began to take form.
Some were quite crazy, while others were warm.
We had lots of fun but we also had struggle.
Pretty tough lives we decided to juggle.
You always requested I write you a rhyme.
Well Rudy, my friend, I guess it is time.
I think of the wonderful times that we had.
To think they are over is making me sad.
I’ll miss being with you and sharing our fun.
I wish there was something that I could have done.
To keep you from leaving, to seek your reward.
Still I am glad that you came to the Lord.
The reason you’re gone, if I had to explain.
‘Cause God saw you suffering and ended your pain.
And so my good friend you have gone from this place.
You left all your burdens, your pain and disgrace.
You left your frustrations and anger behind you.
In Heaven with Jesus is where we will find you.
You finally know joy and you finally know peace.
Pleasures abundant that never will cease.
I say “good-bye Rudy,” in closing my poem.
Knowing full well that your Lord took you home.
