Our Lord, He works in mysterious ways,
It seems He responds to our prayers and our praise.
Just want you to know that you’re my dearest, best friend!
I pray that our friendship will grow without end.

I think God selected you to be my best pal.
I know I could trust you; our friendship won’t fail.
Thanks for your comforting words when most needed.
You tried, Sue, to cheer me; you surely succeeded.

So far from my family and all of my friends,

When I have a problem you always come thru.
You’re much like my mother that I never knew.

I hope your day’s special and after it’s done.

I’m glad that our friendship began and then grew.
